The Pinoy Spoon Incident
A 7-year-old Filipino boy in Quebec was punished by his school lunch monitor for eating with a spoon and fork rather than fork and knife. He was made to eat alone. This style of using cutlery is used by people in Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Canada (where I live) is a multicultural society and this incident is embarrassing. Wrenchware – Fix your car while you eat
OK, look closely at the picture. The fork is a socket, the spoon is a wrench and the knife is a pair of pliers (does that make the knife a pair now?). Novelty is pretty much the value here but it’s still pretty cool. I’m sure my Dad would be interested in the spin off product line called Lureware.
