The Egg Spoon – For the perfect soft boiled egg
Nothing like a properly soft boiled egg and toast soldiers for breakfast.
And what makes eating that egg in a special egg cup is the very special egg spoon. The egg spoon has a shorter handle and a round and wide tip for getting into the shell and scooping out that delicious eggy-wegg at the very bottom. A normal teaspoon is usually too wide in the bowl and not delicate enough for this procedure. It’s all about the right tool for the right job. Now we do preach here at TheCutleryReview.com that you should not have “single purpose tools” in your kitchen and we have found the egg spoon works well for another use. Funnily enough that includes eggs as well, sort of. They make pretty good caviar spoons as well.

Benefeat Tableware for people with nerve disorders
Designers I-Ting Chan & Ting-Yin Yeh have created a complete tableware setting for people with cerebral palsy or other nerve control disorders. A lot of work is done in this area that relies on technology and gadgets rather than good design (sadly I’ve noted this more than once) and this set has a lot of good design.The Benefeat spoon can be adjusted to any angle and has an ergonomically shaped silicon handle. The rest of the setting considers the angle of the bowl or plate, non-slip pads, anti-spill designs and the intent to allow the user easier access to the food to feed themselves.
Benefeat is a 2013 red dot award: design concept winner and hopefully will be commercially produced.
Fornuft Casual Flatware Silverware
This is flatware in the truest sense. It is a 20 piece set with fork, knife, spoon and dessert spoon and the design is from stamped stainless steel. A great set with a great value.
“Fornuft” is a silly name for a flatware set I said to myself. A little googling and looking closely at the photo shows that this is an Ikea product. “Fornuft” translates into “reason” which I guess fits considering this is a reasonable flatware set.
