Cutlery in the Dishwasher

Cutlery in the Dishwasher

We talk a lot about how certain types of coated cutlery should go in the dishwasher. But trust us, for your daily use stainless steel flatware the dishwasher is the way to go. And we, like you I’m certain, just drop all that cutlery into the bins on the bottom. The problem is that the cutlery smacks into each other while the water violently cleans and jostles them around. All those little hits add up to dents and marred cutlery. Well that problem can go away and give you even cleaner cutlery. The dishwasher designers figured out a solution but it seems they really didn’t tell us about it.

From the Dailymail.co.uk:

A professional cleaner has discovered a ‘mind blowing’ feature in her dishwasher for cleaning dirty cutlery.

Liesl Elizabeth, who runs a cleaning service called Clean-Freak Cleaning Co. in Perth, shared a video showing how the knives and forks are laid down in the top rack while loading the dishwasher.

Typically used for long knives, bigger utensils and chopsticks, the mum-of-three was able to stack the cutlery perfectly in between the ridges of the tray.

‘I was today years old… learning the obvious,’ she joked.

So we tried it out here at The Cutlery Review (as our dishwasher has those little ridges in the top rack) and yup, it works pretty dam good!

Spoife, Knork & Foons.

Spoife, Knork & Foons.

It’s just one of those days here at the Cutlery Review. Normally we’d talk about some new fork, spoon or knife but today we are feeling a little left of center. Perhaps it’s the fall weather that has changed our moods. Everything looks a little strange without the sunlight of summer. And when we look down at our table setting of flatware, our eyes go out of focus and we only see the spoife, knork and foon.

Maybe we’ll be better next week.

BLACK WOLF CUTLERY SET from Jason Momoa

BLACK WOLF CUTLERY SET from Jason Momoa

Do you recognize this masked man? Perhaps the post title gave it away? There’s something about celebrity cutlery that gets us excited here at the Cutlery Review. Maybe cause we get good feelings that someone on the big screen loves cutlery as much as us. One of us, one of us! OK, maybe not that much. But we like Jason Momoa and we like that he ate at our favorite sushi place when he was in town shooting a movie. But what about the flatware?

BLACK WOLF CUTLERY SET from Jason Momoa

“Designed for those who dine on the roam, the So iLL x On The Roam Black Wolf Cutlery Set includes a matte black titanium fork, spork (yeah, we did that), spoon, knife, and a small carabiner to help you keep them all in one place.”

So it looks to be Bring Your Own Cutlery (BYOC) for eating on the road. The 4 piece set is matte black titanium that comes with a carabiner. Being titanium it is dishwasher safe but that black matte will probably wear away making it look even more rugged and road worthy. And it has a tattoo! A engraved triangular tattoo pattern and On The Roam logo. So it’s basically Jason Momoa in cutlery form. We are good with that.
