Hugh Jackman’s Wolverfork

hugh jackman wolverfork

Hugh Jackman is known for playing the comic book X-Men character Logan aka Wolverine. And one of his recent Instagram posts had this interesting piece of cutlery for us all to wonder about.

Is it a fork or a threek? “Forks have four tines; tridents have three. One is for eating; the other is for ruling the sea.”

This killer flatware looks to be some solid adamantium construction.

Any of our cutlery readers know where to source this fork from?

Ball of TinFoil for Sparkling Cutlery? Truth or Hoax?

Ball of TinFoil for Sparkling Cutlery? Truth or Hoax?

OK fellow flatware and cutlery experts out there. This TikTok video about leaving your silverware sparkling is everywhere. We need to talk about it.

It is proposed that a chemical reaction occurs between the aluminum and the ingredients in the dishwasher tablet. The foil itself doesn’t clean the cutlery, but as the tablet dissolves it reacts with the metal and shines the cutlery.

Rumor has it that the baking soda in the tablets is what does the powerful cleaning effect. These two components (and with water) remove silver sulfide – also known as tarnish – through an electrochemical reaction in warm water. We’ve talked about this before at this post.

But one big question: Wouldn’t this happen anyways if you had some cast aluminum cookware in the dishwasher?

And one big point to make: This works for only SILVERWARE not for regular stainless steel cutlery and the like. Your regular day to day scratched up forks, knives and spoons are going to get sparkling shiny for this hack.

Have a nice a sparkling day!

PS – That ball of foil will bounce around and likely land in the bottom and jam up your sprayer.

Hannibal’s Cutlery

Just finished watching the Hannibal tv series, again. And boy oh boy can Hannibal ever cook, he smokes, he burns, he smolders. In particular it’s all about Mads Mikkelsen and his talent in the kitchen. His use of cutlery for killing is kinna crazy. But his use of flatware for fine dining is what caught my eye. Here’s a list of all the dishes he makes: https://hannibal.fandom.com/wiki/Hannibal%27s_Dishes_(TV)

In season three he makes a dish and specifically calls out the Christofle Silver Plate Flatware as shown here:

Binging with Babish Cookware & Cutlery

Well our man crush Babish has finally cashed in his popular chips for a line of cookware and cutlery. Sadly we don’t see much for cutlery or flatware other than tongs but he has knives, knives and knives. Oh and bowls and measure cups. And no tiny whisks? (oh wait, TINY WHISK SET RESTOCK COMING SOON!!!) But no carving fork yet either?

The Babish Culinary Universe really is expanding a great deal and all the power to him. His influence on making popular Jon Favreau’s carving fork from the movie “Chef” and the infamous Tiny Whisk is staggering. And let’s not forget that he is teaching people how to cook. And that’s a good thing.

Check out the Babish Amazon Store here
