These 2 packages of plastic (BPA free) spoons will change color with the temperature of the food you use them with. Be warned they are lightweight plastic, so not really made for hard ice cream. But cold soft ice cream, yogurt or puddings and you will have some fun.

There are 12 spoons per package and they are reusable and dishwasher safe but the top rack only. The hot water in a dishwasher might mess with them a bit.

The disclaimer: Color change will vary depending on temperature, lighting, and perception of color. Color change is due to temperature change. The warmer it is… the lighter the color. The colder it is… the bolder the color.

This spoon is the Goûte, it is the result of studies “in search of the perfect spoon”. It is to replicate action of dipping it and licking your fingers.

The Goûte, is an interesting piece of flatware made in both glass and wood. It was created by Andreas Fabian, a professor at Bucks New University who has a PhD in Spoons and Spoonness (honestly, that is what it says). He is working with chef Charles Michel.

Where did these “Joseph Joseph” guys come from? Have I been hiding under a rock? Normally we wouldn’t review products from the same company twice in a row. But this spoon and fork set is too cool to ignore. These guys call themselves “masters of form and function” and I can’t disagree.

Look at this thing, it’s a clever spoon scoop for olives, pearl onions and the like. And it has a cute little tiny strainer built in. But wait there’s more! It’s got a pickle fork that snaps into the handle. What’s not to like? And it’s dishwasher safe. And it’s a great price.
