But this spoon and fork set is too cool to ignore. These guys call themselves “masters of form and function” and I can’t disagree.

Look at this thing, it’s a clever spoon scoop for olives, pearl onions and the like. And it has a cute little tiny strainer built in. But wait there’s more! It’s got a pickle fork that snaps into the handle. What’s not to like? And it’s dishwasher safe. And it’s a great price.

Knork 2 Piece Titanium Serving Set Black MatteYup, black matte cutlery seems to be the color that’s cool this year again. And Knork really seems to have to corner edon that market and boy are they ever selling a lot of flatware.

This two piece titanium serving set caught my eye due to the very cool design on the slotted spoon. Although I have no idea what dish it would look good in, black is hard to pair with foods.

The hand forged set uses a titanium coated technique that is PVD and is dishwasher safe and scratch resistant. What is PVD you ask?

PVD coating is a plasma coating deposition technology. Vacuum Coating. The materials are vaporized under vacuum coating conditions to obtain a PVD coating. A vacuum chamber is necessary to avoid reaction of the vaporized material with air.

Gourmet Settings Handmade Montana 20 Piece Flatware SetYup, another post on black cutlery. It really seems black colored flatware is this year’s big trend, where as last year I think it was copper. Maybe next year it will be pink?

This tableware from Gourmet Settings is called “Handmade Montana” and is a black finish heat forged 18/10 stainless steel. I really like the handmade look. They claim it is dishwasher safe but I would worry about losing the finish and possibly rust if they touch while in the washer.

The 20 piece set  includes 4 dinner knives, 4 dinner forks, 4 salad forks, 4 teaspoons and 4 tablespoons.
