Villeroy and Boch New Wave Flatware definitely has a “New Wave” design to it. It’s all about the skinny jean handles and that paddle of a knife.
It’s made of shiny 18/10 stainless steel that is dishwasher safe. The service for 12 set consists of a dinner fork, salad fork, dinner knife, soup spoon and teaspoon. And a hostess set with a serving spoon, slotted serving spoon, meat fork, gravy ladle.
I’d never thought someone would refer to cutlery as being New Wave but this does deserve that label.
Well, that’s a nice family portrait of cutlery isn’t it? They call this a starter set and I’d say it’s a start to a large family and an adventure (pun intended). The International Silver Adventure is a flatware setting for 8 people. This includes a hostess set that consists of a large tablespoon, 1 pierced tablespoon and 1 cold meat fork (what would make it a hot meat fork?). The full set includes salad forks, dinner forks, dinner knives, dinner spoons and teaspoons.
It’s made of 18/0 stainless steel and is a good price for a complete set to fit a new kitchen.

We really like Henckels products around our house. And we like the look of the design of the Bellasera cutlery set. This is a 45-piece flatware set with service for 8. That includes a salad fork, dinner fork, knife, tablespoon, and teaspoon. Also included is five piece hostess service set that includes sugar spoon, butter knife, meat fork, serving spoon, and slotted serving spoon. Made of dishwasher safe and corrosion resistant 18/10 stainless-steel.
BTW – I read in Anthony Bourdain’s book last night that slotted spoons are consider female and regular are male. Weird huh?
