This is the sixth in our “Different Types of Spoons” series and next up is the Salad Spoon. To quote the Simpsons: “You don’t make friends with salad!”. Hmmm…that really doesn’t make sense here now does it?

Let’s break that definition down. It need to be large, long and not affected by vinegar. So no metals please. Wood is the right choice here. And besides metal makes to much noise. No one wants loud cutlery.

This is the fifth in our “Different Types of Spoons” series and today we are examining the Demitasse Spoon.

A Demitasse is a very small cup of coffee. And therefore it requires a very small spoon. This is why it is also known at the “Espresso Spoon”. We are talking serious coffee cutlery here.

Wait, what !? Surgical procedures? “A demitasse spoon is useful instrument to retain and protect the peritoneum during suturing.”. OK, you can go further down that rabbit hole on your own, we’ve read enough on that. Let’s just focus on the spoon for coffee.

This is the fourth in our “Different Types of Spoons” series and today we look at flatware for tasty treats and more, the “Iced Beverage Spoon” which in the USA is known as the “Iced Tea Spoon”.

This is a versatile spoon that can also be used as ice cream spoons, ice teaspoons, coffee mixing spoons, cocktail stirring spoons and for eating rice. Yup, rice. Let’s talk about that…

Look, we have to admit that here at The Cutlery Review we prefer the Sutgarak (숟가락) aka the Long Handled Korean Spoon. This is the third in our “Different Types of Spoons” series and next up is required flatware for any table, the classic “Soup Spoon”.

Let’s be nice and sparkling clear here, we are talking Soup Spoon for putting soup or other food stuffs into your mouth. Not a “Ladle” which is used for serving said soup. Big difference as one is small for the mouth and one is large for the pot. Clear? Cool.

So let’s talk about some cool cutlery, the Hiware Soup Spoons as pictured above. These are a nice design as inspired by the classic Chinese soup spoon.
