Riccardo Randi is a material designer with some pretty good ideas. While working on the branding for a restaurant in Italy he went looking for nice disposable cutlery and couldn’t find anything he liked. He wanted wood but that left a bad taste in the mouth so he combined both wood and plastic in these hand made prototypes. They aren’t commercially available yet but certainly are a great idea for disposable cutlery with a better heft and use.
Our friends over at Design Boom have a nice article and a lot more pictures of this unique wood and plastic cutlery.
