COZY cutlery – Microwaveable cutlery for healthy eating

COZY-cutleryIf you came here via a Google search looking for cutlery that can safely go into the microwave, these aren’t the cutlery you are looking for. The answer to that question is anything that has no metal at all, stick to plastic and wood.

This microwaveable cutlery is called COZY Cutlery because it’s warmed by the microwave. The concept is that having the flatware handles being warmed will make children eat slower and therefore healthier.

OK, I think this is ridiculous and sounds like some mild form of torture. You can’t eat quickly because the handle of your spoon is too hot? Sorry, this is nonsense to me. Now, it is only a concept product created by Dyson School of Design Engineering.

I’ll let you make your own mind up on this one.

Color Changing Spoons

These 2 packages of plastic (BPA free) spoons will change color with the temperature of the food you use them with. Be warned they are lightweight plastic, so not really made for hard ice cream. But cold soft ice cream, yogurt or puddings and you will have some fun.

There are 12 spoons per package and they are reusable and dishwasher safe but the top rack only. The hot water in a dishwasher might mess with them a bit.

The disclaimer: Color change will vary depending on temperature, lighting, and perception of color. Color change is due to temperature change. The warmer it is… the lighter the color. The colder it is… the bolder the color.

Brick Figure Spoon, Fork, Training Chopsticks and Case set / Lego Brick Compatible

lego-cutleryIt’s a “Brick Figure” cutlery set. Because you can’t say it’s Lego due to branding but it’s compatible with all those Lego that are all over your floor currently. We’ve looked at Lego style flatware before but this set really has it all. Not only does it have a 2.6 inch fork and spoon with a 3.2 inch case but it also comes with 8.3 inch training chopsticks. But wait, there’s more! It also includes 2 extra brick compatible figures (Minifigs)!

I have to say that the curved line fork design is very unique and rather clever. Not sure why we don’t see this in adult forks as it would have better holding power after stabbing into tricky foods. One thing to remember here is that this product is most definitely not dishwasher safe.

This a great gift for the little foody in the family and would make a excellent stocking stuffer.
