A while back we did a week of reviews on the various types of pizza cutters. The nice folks at KitchenAid have sent me their new pizza wheel that is part of the Architect Series. The first thing that struck me about this wheel style cutter is the heft and weight, this thing is built for pizzeria kitchen duty. It has a nice ergonomic handle with finger guard and the wheel is made of stainless steel. The handle fits the hand well and has a good angle for downward pressure when cutting. You can cut more than pizza with this, I tried cardboard as well and it didn’t have any problem (no kidding, be careful you don’t cut through a pizza box). It can be disassembled for cleaning but I don’t see the need for that as it’s dishwasher safe.

Spring is most definitely here and the tulips have just finished their bloom and now the poppies are starting. Floral designs on flatware have been a tradition for always. Oneida’s Azalea cutlery set is covered in blossoms, scrolls and leaves. These hefty pieces are in the “fiddleback” design, which is the flared end of the handle looking like the body of a violin or fiddle. This service for eight includes 5 piece place settings consisting of 2 serving spoons, 1 serving fork, 1 sugar spoon, and 1 butter knife. Made with the standard dishwasher safe 18/0 stainless steel.

The Buck Travelmate – Everyday Carry Cutlery
Everyone that knows me and this blog knows there are two things that really catch my attention: Everyday Carry Cutlery and Nutella Spreaders. You can imagine how excited I was to see this new piece from Buck.
First off, it isn’t a pocket everyday carry but definitely something to have in the backpack or picnic basket. The 4.87 inch serrated blade (9.87 inches with handle) is made of 410HC stainless steel and perfect for cutting bread and spreading delicious Nutella. Then there is the fork which has a bottle opener, can opener, flathead screwdriver and barbecue grill scraper. Could you ask for more? One last thing is the antimicrobial injection molded sheath for storage and carry. It is covered by Buck’s Forever Warranty and it’s dishwasher safe.
