They are very small at only 3 to 4 inches in length. And they are made of high-grade food grade stainless steel. The detailing and design on this flatware is amazing. The bronze coloring may take a beating in the dishwasher, so be careful with them.

Great design, small and can be used for more than just coffee. They would make great spoons for spice, sugar or salt jars.

Villeroy and Boch New Wave Flatware definitely has a “New Wave” design to it. It’s all about the skinny jean handles and that paddle of a knife.

It’s made of shiny 18/10 stainless steel that is dishwasher safe. The service for 12 set consists of a dinner fork, salad fork, dinner knife, soup spoon and teaspoon. And a hostess set with a serving spoon, slotted serving spoon, meat fork, gravy ladle.

I’d never thought someone would refer to cutlery as being New Wave but this does deserve that label.

Rich Forks – Stolen Cutlery from the Rich and Famous

“The Rich Forks” is an interesting art project by Australian artist Van Thanh Rudd. For fifteen years he has been stealing cutlery from the rich and famous. To quote from his website:

“Endless high quality food and drink, silver service and luxury hotel rooms adorn the daily routines of the idle rich these days more than ever. It’s no surprise that this occurs when only 62 people own as much wealth as the poorest 3.6 billion people on this planet. Luxury items including 5/6 star hotel food and wine is always at the finger tips of the extremely wealthy. And they don’t lift a finger when it comes to washing the silverware, setting the tables or cooking the exorbitantly priced food.”

So he successfully stole flatware from rich people to make a pretty serious point. He had access I think because he is the nephew of the former Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd. And he stole from a interesting list of people like Prince Harry, Hillary Clinton, Rupert Murdoch and others.

International Silver Adventure Stainless Steel Flatware

Well, that’s a nice family portrait of cutlery isn’t it? They call this a starter set and I’d say it’s a start to a large family and an adventure (pun intended). The International Silver Adventure is a flatware setting for 8 people. This includes a hostess set that consists of a large tablespoon, 1 pierced tablespoon and 1 cold meat fork (what would make it a hot meat fork?). The full set includes salad forks, dinner forks, dinner knives, dinner spoons and teaspoons.
