Bring Your Own Cutlery (BYOC)
These would make great stocking stuffers for Christmas. They are multi-taskers as well. You can use them for storing your Everyday Carry Cutlery, reusuable straws, chopsticks, pens and pencils, your glasses and the list goes on and on.

Above is the single use plastic picnic tray invented by French designer Jean-Pierre Vitrac. It’s from around the World War II era. I have to say it is pretty impressive. A cup, tray and cool looking knife, fork and spoon. And it’s plastic. And we aren’t happy with plastic these days and I get that.
So as the world plans on banning plastic and it’s use in the food industry we have new ideas. Here at the Cutlery Review we have been promoting what we call the Everyday Carry Cutlery or ECC. But our friends over at Treehugger.com are suggesting Bring Your Own Cutlery or BYOC. Either way it’s a great idea.

This interesting piece of flatware consists of a camping spoon, fork, knife and can/bottle opener. And the removable camping fork can be held in one hand, with spoon knife in the other. Yup, it transforms into two pieces.
It’s made of dishwasher safe non-stick stainless steel and comes with a nice nylon storage bag for each. Pretty cool pocket cutlery.

So Gerber (not the baby food people) have another entry into our fave category of “Everyday Carry Cutlery”. The ComplEAT has a rather silly name that isn’t a pun or anything I guess? But the design and function don’t seem that silly at all.
There are the four pieces you see above: spoon, fork, dual-sided spatula, and a 4 function multi-tool. And those four pieces of cutlery sure do at lot. The little tool is a serrated package opener, can opener, bottle opener, and a veggie peeler. The spoon, fork and spatula make sense and the spatula connects with the fork to make a set of cooking tongs as well.
